Hey, this reminds me, have you seen the Smoke Free DC site? Check it out, then send a letter to D.C. City Council telling them that you think smoking stinks. *cough*
(Editor's note: Friend of mine that reads NYC CityRag blog said they picked up this Paris piece, then discovered that Defamer ran a similar one in October. Oops! I highly doubt shes smoking, if it is a cigarette it looks to me like shes eating it. Now what makes more sense?

what's with the anti-smoking crusade among liberals lately? (note, I am a liberal myself, just not a trampling on rights and what someone puts into their body liberal) They're doing it here in Indianapolis too, trying to stop pretty mcuh all public smoking.
Funny thing is I don't even smoke. But when I go to a bar, I expect to be around smoke. What's next, total prohibition? That worked well for alcohol. Working so well for pot....

Um, there's a little bit of a difference between Prohibition and banning smoking in public places/bars, the main one being the rationale behind each ban. There is no direct effect on one person from another person's drinking (there are some indirect effects - being injured/killed by a drunk driver, but these can be addressed through much more rational and related means), unlike smoking where someone standing next to a smoker is directly affected by the smoke. It doesn't do anything to YOUR liver when I'm drinking next to you (we won't talk about my liver). If you're (not you, really) smoking next to me, it's affecting my lungs - a proven fact. And - Prohibition banned alcohol everywhere, unlike a restaurant smoking ban. Prohibition was the government's attempt to regulate morality, while a smoking ban is the government's attempt to protext those who choose not to smoke (including infants and children).

I don't care what people do to their own bodies ... but I care about what affects other people.
Drink all you want, but do not drive (b/c you could hurt other people). Snort all the coke you want, but don't go psycho on others (b/c you might hurt them). Smoke all you want, but do it away from others (b/c you might give them cancer). That is all.
KAC, if I do alot of coke do you recommend diet, classic or the new fangled C2?
